The District Council will be hosting the annual Softball Charity Tournament and Local 2790 would like to invite you to pass by our tent for a “members only” BBQ. We will be serving food and beverages to just Shop and Industrial Local 2790 members and family!

Local 2790 has 10 grandstand tickets available for members who would like to come watch the parade but not walk in it. Please call or e-mail the Local if interested.

When: Sat. Sept. 6, 2014 @ 9AM

Where: W 45th Street between 6th & 7th Aves.

Closest Subway: N to 49 st/7th Ave.

D & F to 47-50 st- Rockefeller ctr/6th Ave.

7 to Times Square- 42 st/Broadway/7th Ave.


NOTE: We are scheduled to start marching at 11:30AM

Please note: Any dues paid online using a credit card AFTER the office closes (4pm) on November 24, 2014 will NOT be applied until the following day. 




VOTE! Elections on Monday, June 23, 2014

Elections for executive board, delegates and trial committee will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014. Polls open at 1pm and will close at 7pm. This is a secret ballot election. Votes will be counted immediately upon closing of polls. YOU MUST BE IN GOODSTANDING TO VOTE. Dues must be up to date in order to cast a vote and you will be able to pay dues at the meeting hall if necessary. Work cards will not be issued. Dues can be paid and a receipt will be issued and you will recieve your work card by mail soon after. 

*IMPORTANT* Please be sure that all assessments owed to the District Council are paid and CLEARED by election day. If you are owing assessments on the day of elections, you will not be eligible to vote.

Date change for May 2014 Membership Meeting

Due to the Memorial Day holiday falling on the night of our regularly scheduled memebrship meeting, May's meeting has been moved up to Monday, May 19, 2014 @ 6pm.
In addition, at this meeting, you will have a chance to enroll in the Dental Plan if you haven't already done so. There will be representatives from the plan administrator at the meeting to assist you with your enrollment.
There will be a postcard mailed to each member as a reminder that this will be a nomination meeting for the upcoming June election.
