The current term for all Trial Committee members to the District Council will expire on 12-31-15. The new twelve (12) month term will commence on 1-1-16. Each local has three (3) positions on the Trial Committee for a total of 24 members. Each Local must provide a notice to the membership at their October local meetings and via local and District Council Websites for the nomination and election to the Trial Committee. The nomination will take place at the November meeting and the election, if needed at the December meeting. The election must take place prior to December 31, 2015 by secret ballot to be conducted by each local union. If there is no opposition to the three (3) positions a “white ballot” can be cast for each of the three (3) nominees. Notification of the elected members must be made to the District Council Director of Operations by December 31, 2015.
