Please be advised effective January 1,2016 all union dues to be paid to Local 2790 will be
$135.00 per quarter
All Active working members (Journeymen/Apprentices/Helper/City Workers) All Early Ret,Retired,50Aretired, union dues will remain the same as before.
This increase is a result of a vote held at the special called meeting on Nov 23,2015. All members were notified by mail of the meeting and informed to come vote on the increase.
The current term for all Trial Committee members to the District Council will expire on 12-31-15. The new twelve (12) month term will commence on 1-1-16. Each local has three (3) positions on the Trial Committee for a total of 24 members. Each Local must provide a notice to the membership at their October local meetings and via local and District Council Websites for the nomination and election to the Trial Committee. The nomination will take place at the November meeting and the election, if needed at the December meeting. The election must take place prior to December 31, 2015 by secret ballot to be conducted by each local union. If there is no opposition to the three (3) positions a “white ballot” can be cast for each of the three (3) nominees. Notification of the elected members must be made to the District Council Director of Operations by December 31, 2015.
The District Council will once again be marching and participating in the Annual NYC Labor Day Parade on Saturday, September 12th. We encourage any Members willing to march with us to come out and help us stand for the strength of Union Labor in New York as we parade up 5th Avenue in Manhattan.
The meeting place will be on 46th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. Gathering will start at 8 AM and marching at 12:30 PM. The District Council will be providing food, refreshments, adult and children's t-shirts, and hats to wear.

MWA and Independent Shops shall observe Independence Day on Monday July 6th.
The Local 2790 office will be closed on Friday July 3rd 2015 in observence of the federal holiday and will be open on Monday July 6th, 2015.
